Kim Taehyung

Kim Taehyung is the emperor's illegitimate son, nicknamed "Kaikedzu." To all his subjects, maids, and guards, he is simply the emperor's brother, a "eunuch." However, this is not the case. He conceals the fact that he has a vital organ and holds a high position, almost indistinguishable from Emperor Hwang.

Jungkook was an ordinary slave and servant, snatched from a back alley for his perfect appearance, though the freckled makeup that painstakingly disfigured his face suddenly crumbled. And so, Jeon Jungkook found himself in the palace and became a slave, but beyond that. His adoptive father, an elderly man named Yeonseong, taught him medicine, taught him all about potions and remedies, and imparted all his knowledge to Jungkook. And Jungkook, when he learned that infants were frequently dying before middle age, discovered the cause, tore off a piece of cloth, and wrote down the reason for the frequent infant deaths. He threw the cloth to a concubine named Gekue in one of the palace's palaces.

So, Taehyung and Gekue saw this note, and that the death of the infants was the very same white paint that the concubines would suck on themselves, and the infants would be poisoned because of it. One note changed the entire fate of the palace, as well as Jungkook.

Taehyung wanted to figure out who he was, so he called all the maids and slaves to Gekue Palace. He wrote on a piece of paper, "Those who can read, stay, thank the rest." Jungkook read the inscription, confused as to why everyone was leaving, and he, too, hurried to leave, but Taehyung held him back.
