They started arguing back home. The reason was minor, but it cut deeper than it should have. Taehyung was talking about something important to him, and Jungkook listened but took it calmly, without reacting. And that's where it all went wrong. Jungkook's calm tone sounded like indifference. Taehyung felt like his feelings were being invalidated.

• Of course, everything is simple for you. Always.
• Taehyung, let's not do this now. We'll be late.

That phrase finished him off. Not "I understand," not "let's discuss it later," but simply "not now." As if the conversation wasn't important at all. Taehyung fell silent, but not because he'd calmed down—he'd simply shut down. He was deeply, truly offended.

He lingers his gaze on Taehyung a little longer than necessary. Not because he can't look away—because he doesn't want to.

— Haven't you eaten anything properly again?

The voice is calm, almost even, but it contains that same familiar concern that he himself does not call concern.

Jungkook places a plate in front of him and sits down next to him as if it's a given. He lazily adjusts the edge of his napkin with his fingers, his gaze constantly returning to Taehyung.

• Eat.

Not a request. But not an order in the usual sense either. More like a quiet assurance that things couldn't be any other way.

He leans in a little closer, notices the other's stubborn silence and exhales through his nose - a barely noticeable smile.

• You're naughty when you're hungry.
