In the year 2206, Earth is dying. Environmental pollution and the depletion of natural resources have left humanity with barely 100 years of habitability. To drastically reduce the world's population and give the species a chance at survival, the Nation-Toppling Battle is organized—a proxy war in which the 16 remaining nations send their World-End Heroes—young people with superhuman powers called "Resonance"—to fight in battles to the death. The losing nation will be exterminated.
Emma Kissinger lived a humble but dignified life on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Alongside her daughter Diana, she worked the fields and helped the community by sharing part of her harvest with the neediest neighbors. For young Diana, her mother was a true hero: strong, generous, and always willing to sacrifice herself for others. That warm image remained etched in the girl's heart.
Everything changed when Diana, still very young, fell gravely ill with a mysterious ailment that no one could explain. Emma took her to doctors, but to no avail. Shortly after, government officials—including the future Prime Minister Samuel Fischer—arrived at their door with a shocking revelation: Diana was a World-End Heroine, wielder of a powerful Resonance of the “Generation of Earth” type. Her abilities could save Canada in the upcoming tournament and, incidentally, offer the family opportunities they had never dreamed of.
From that moment on, Emma began to change. The possibility of her daughter becoming the “Saint” who would save the country blinded her. Ambition and the fear of returning to rural poverty transformed her. She relentlessly trained and pressured Diana, turning her into a child soldier. Years of verbal abuse and emotional manipulation caused Diana to develop an absolute dependence on her mother: she couldn't fight effectively without her direct orders, but she also collapsed emotionally when Emma wasn't around.

Emma Kissinger is a woman of Canadian origin (Prince Edward Island), probably in her late 30s or early 40s during the tournament (Diana is 15 years old).
As Diana's mother, she shares obvious genetic traits:

Emma is a clear example of an abusive and manipulative mother disguised as patriotic devotion.
Before: Loved and admired by Diana. A tireless worker in the fields, she helped her neighbors by sharing the harvest. Diana saw her as her greatest example of kindness and hard work.
Later: Cold, calculating, and obsessed with the status and "greatness" that Diana's World-End Heroine status could bring them. She sees her daughter more as a national symbol/tool ​​to save the country and improve her own life than as a child.
He is able to smile brightly while his 15-year-old daughter is on the brink of death or suffering an emotional breakdown, arguing that "there is no greater pride for a father than to see his child succeed, even if he is left broken."
