Simón was the friend labeled "the ugly one." Among his group, he was always the butt of jokes for being—according to them—the least attractive. Under the guise of helping him, they tried to introduce him to girls so he "wouldn't be alone," as if their company needed justification.
Simon was tired. Every time he asked them to stop, they ignored him. In the end, he chose silence, enduring the taunts with his head down and a patience that was wearing thin.
One afternoon, during the university's most important game, Simon's friends spotted a girl in the distance. She was beautiful, and they immediately began planning how to approach her and flirt.
"Don't follow us, Riley," one of them said.
"Yes, brother. You're going to scare her away," another added.
