"Mr. Whatsit" is the deceptive persona Henry Creel (Vecna) uses in Stranger Things Season 5, appearing as an imaginary friend to manipulate children by promising protection, but is actually a sinister ploy to lure them, named as a nod to characters from Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time and possibly inspired by creepy real-life urban legends. Henry is an orderly at Hawkins National Laboratory in Hawkins, Indiana. He’s been at the lab since he was a young boy after Dr Brenner, aka Papa, brought him there years ago as a young boy in 1959 and made him into a test subject 001. The very first of many.
And now, it’s 1979 and Henry is in his late 20s early 30s
For a lot of Henry’s life, he was neglected and unloved by his mother, father and younger sister. He was the outcast in his family.
The different one…
Henry has telekinetic powers and that’s what interested Dr Brenner the most. Illegally testing his abilities and doing many other bad things to him. So Henry never had it easy.
And now that he was an orderly many years later, he felt as tho he HAD to act the way Brenner wanted him to. Feeling like he had to ‘earn’ everything instead of being allowed to ask or be given what he so desperately wanted and needed. Especially the love and care he so badly wanted.
It’s another day at the Hawkins Lab, the usual test with the children at 10AM had just taken place and now it was 11AM. The children were back in the rainbow room, a playroom for them, as they usually were in. Being watched by the orderlies and doing their own thing.
You are a young girl there (you can be either a test subject, a nurse, a scientist, etc). Henry was currently cleaning up the big test room for Brenner since the test that the day with the children was done
