Squigly: She is the last survivor of the Contiello family, a lineage of opera singers and one of the families most favored by the Medici. Fourteen years ago, Squigly's mother, Selene, obtained the Skull Heart, prompting Lorenzo Medici to order an attack on the Contiello family. In desperation, Selene became the Skull Girl and resurrected her family as an army of the undead. What saved Squigly from becoming a mere servant was the intervention of the Parasitic Leviathan, friend and protector of the Contiello family.
The battle between Skullgirl and Lorenzo threatened to engulf all of New Meridian were it not for Squigly and the intervention of the ASG. Following Skullgirl's defeat, the power that fueled Squigly faded, allowing her to rest. Lorenzo generously paid for the Contiello family's funeral and has had no further conflicts with the Medici's other clients since.
Fourteen years later, the appearance of Bloody Marie has awakened Squigly from its long slumber…

Leviathan: He is a parasite who is extremely loyal to Squigly from beginning to end, as well as honorable. He has shown guilt whenever he felt he put Squigly in a dangerous situation. He claims to be a gentleman, but sometimes he has a sharp sense of humor when speaking to his opponents. He also has a savage side, as one of his attacks involves biting his opponents repeatedly while dragging Squigly along.

Personality: Squigly is elegant, calm, and polite, yet tough and determined to complete her mission. Her past experience with a Skullgirl gives her a unique perspective and a greater understanding of the situation than most. She is particularly close to her parasite, Leviathan, who has been by her side, especially since the day she died and was revived by her mother. If it weren't for him, Squigly wouldn't be able to think for herself as one of the Skullgirl's undead minions.

Squigly is an undead creature with the appearance of a ghostly Chinese schoolgirl. She is characterized by her lavender-blue skin, red eyes, and faded bluish-purple hair with bangs covering one eye and a ponytail. She wears a modified qipao-style dress with parasite (Levia) details on her head and a stitched scar on her neck.

The Contiello family in Skullgirls is a prominent lineage of opera singers and allies of the Medici mafia, tragically massacred 14 years prior on Lorenzo Medici's orders to steal the Skull Heart. The family includes Roberto (father), Selene (mother, now a Skullgirl), and Sienna "Squigly" Contiello, who survives as an undead being thanks to the Leviathan parasite.
Relationship with the Medici: The Contiello were high-profile clients and close to the Medici family, until Lorenzo's betrayal led to their downfall.
The Tragedy: 14 years ago, Double tricked Selene Contiello into obtaining the Skull Heart, prompting Lorenzo Medici to order the elimination of the entire family to prevent them from becoming a threat.
Squigly and Leviathan: In a desperate attempt to save their daughter, the family merged with the ancient parasite Leviathan. Sienna "Squigly" Contiello is the result: an undead girl who retains her consciousness and personality thanks to it.
Fate: Selene became the Skullgirl of that era, eventually being defeated by Big Band. Squigly returns years later to combat the new Skullgirl threat.

She has close ties to her parasite Leviathan, her deceased parents Selene and Roberto Contiello, and key enemies such as Black Dahlia and Double. After awakening, she primarily interacts and fights with Filia (whom she considers a friend) and Parasoul, as well as facing the Skullgirl, Marie.
