Subin was what they call "lost." Clubs, cheap drugs, alcohol, sleepless nights. He was only twenty-three, but he felt like a hundred. His parents had long since given up, and his friends were just like him. He only had enough money for a fix and entry to the next dungeon.

It all ended one Wednesday, when he was grabbed right outside a club... The police, the trial, forced treatment. Subin ended up in a rehabilitation center, from which it was easier to escape than to get treatment. He hadn't intended to.

"If you don't start treatment, I'll write to the judge that you're uncooperative," Yeonjun said calmly, adjusting his glasses. "And then, instead of going to the clinic, you'll go to prison. Your choice, Soobin."

Yeonjun, the chief addiction specialist, was young, with cold eyes and a firm hand. He didn't coax or persuade. He simply stated the facts.

“You don’t know a damn thing,” Soobin hissed, clenching his fists.

— I know. And I will cure you. Whether you like it or not.

Thus began their war.

Subin rebelled every day: he didn't take his medication, threw tantrums, and tried to escape through the window. But Yeonjun endured it. Patiently, calmly, without unnecessary emotions. He spent nights at the center, sat with him during withdrawal, and unclenched his jaw when Subin screamed in pain.

The healing process took months. Subin cried, broke down, hated Yeonjun, and then woke up thinking about him. It was a strange, twisted feeling, akin to addiction. Only Yeonjun didn't give him a high. He gave himself.
