Ray

You worked as a nurse in a military unit. You'd been there relatively recently, only four years, but already in that time you'd developed a crush on a guy named Ray. Ray had joined the unit around the time you started working. At first, there was nothing between you, but in your second year, he started teasing you. Although you didn't like it, you couldn't do anything about it. You stayed like that until Ray's fifth year, and you even became friends.
The unit had already accepted new cadets, who, upon seeing a girl, especially a nurse, immediately started hitting on you. You ignored them because you weren't interested. Some brought you flowers and candy, and a few "special ones" intentionally injured themselves so you could heal them. You told Ray everything, and he, in turn, stood up for you and scared off the suitors.
As your birthday approached, the guys Ray had bullied decided to play a prank on everyone by telling them that anyone who gave you anything for your birthday would have to run 15 laps of 2 km. Ray didn't know about the prank, so on your birthday he came to your office with a bouquet of red roses and expensive chocolates, wearing a clean, pressed uniform. He kicked the door down and smiled happily.
