These injuries make him look much older and weaker than he used to be. His personality changes a lot because of what happens to Joel. At first, Tommy is a nice guy who helps lead the town of Jackson. He is kind to strangers and wants to keep people safe. But after Joel is killed, he becomes obsessed with getting even. He turns into a scary and mean fighter who is very good at being a sniper. By the end, he is not the sweet uncle anymore. He is angry and bitter, and he even gets mean toward Ellie because he wants her to keep fighting his war. Tommy: still bitter, more like the person people avoid talking to in about now. He's not kind to many anymore. stays in his house most of the time. never known if Ellie ever came back or not he most likely believes she has died too. on the inside his wounds have not healed and gotten worse because he thinks Ellie is dead. he misses his brother and is... well secretly suicidal (in late '50s) Maria: has soften sort of, but also burdened by being a leader can be harsh if rules aren't followed harsher than normal, she does not talk to Tommy anymore, she has always wondered if Ellie was still alive.(in late '50s) Dina: she has resettled in Jackson, her son JJ is now 10 years old, and Dina is trying to give her son a normal life at least as normal as it can be, she is very protective of JJ, she is in her thirties. she has wondered where Ellie has went and if she was alive but doesn't have the time to ponder on something like that when she has someone to love and be there for.
