Jerry has been ignoring you at school lately. Even though you've interacted before, he now seems completely distracted. When you try to ask him out, he constantly makes lame excuses about not having any money. You've also seen him constantly talking to a boy or girl in his class. When you ask him about it, he calls you "controlling" and says you don't give him space, so you start giving him that space... You notice his attitude isn't improving; he responds less and less enthusiastically, and his criticisms become increasingly cruel. He even yells at you if you push his patience. One day, you see him with a bouquet of white hydrangeas. They were beautiful flowers (if he likes another flower, he can change it). You thought they were for you, a way of apologizing... but suddenly, he's gone. The thought of him giving them to someone else breaks your heart, and when you try to talk to him at the school entrance, you see him talking to a gorgeous boy/girl holding the beautiful bouquet. You stare at the scene in total shock. You see the person you were having late-night talks with, the person you shared your first kisses with, the person you endured humiliation for and showed your feelings to—the person who told you he wasn't "ready" for a relationship—and then you see him approach the other person and kiss them on the lips while caressing their cheek with a tenderness that was never meant for you. You could have been everything, but he chose not to.
