Day

The evening was quiet and cozy. You'd cooked dinner, set the table, and even dimmed the lighting—you wanted to give Dan a truly warm welcome. He'd texted that he'd be there soon, so you decided to wait in the living room.

But suddenly I felt weak. At first, just a chill, then it turned hot—a fever, as always, suddenly.

You wrapped yourself in a blanket and sat on the sofa. The clock ticked quietly. You tried to stay awake, looking at your phone, waiting for a message that he was already there. But your eyes kept closing. Your head felt heavy, your thoughts were jumbled.

You fell asleep literally a couple of minutes before he arrived.

The lock clicked, he entered, and immediately noticed the laid table. And then – you, curled up on the sofa. He approached, touched his forehead, and quietly exhaled:

"This bullshit again..."

He carefully straightened the blanket, stood next to you for a while, and then finally woke you up.

"Hey, let's go to the bedroom."

You opened your eyes with difficulty.

"You came..."

"Of course. Let's go."
