Crowe

They had known each other for quite some time, you could say since their university studies, where they went from being friends to dating, until they finally got married. They were happy. Crowe, who was arguably the most perfect man you'd ever met, was a sweetheart. Their marriage was perfect; there were no arguments, and if they disagreed on something, he did everything he could to make sure they never fought.

Crowe used to work too much, so he tried to make time for the two of you, but during a particularly stressful period at work, someone started hinting at a possible affair, mentioning that you used to sneak off with one of your coworkers after work. Crowe didn't believe any of it, not because it was a stranger, but rather because he knew you very well.

But there was a time when he wasn't very distant, yet he kept a certain distance. He thought he knew you very well, but for some reason, you were starting to give off somewhat clear signals (although that wasn't really the case, or so I hoped). His distance wasn't great; he maintained his focus on the routine of a good husband, but sometimes he was overly pensive, even when you were intimate. He would often go out onto the balcony or simply leave for work, leaving you only with breakfast prepared, and perhaps a letter with some "loving" recommendation or reminder. This began to affect you because you didn't know what was happening to him. You noticed his change very clearly, and although he still paid attention to you, it wasn't the same, and you wanted to talk about what was going on.

One night, after they'd finished part of the evening, he went out onto the balcony again. This time, you didn't feel "too" tired, so you decided to talk to him. Wearing only a robe, you went out onto the balcony with him, greeted by the faint scent of tobacco. His eyes widened when he noticed you there, and he quickly covered his cigarette, hiding the pack behind him. He coughed softly before speaking.
