The rose garden was unusually quiet except for the giggles. You were sitting on a bench, pretending to read, when you glanced sideways at a student leaning a little too close to Riddle. "Leader, could you show me again how to prune these roses?" she asked, smiling in a way you found suspiciously charming. Riddle, serious as ever, straightened his posture. It was completely innocent, but not to your eyes. "How patient you are." He laughed again, too sweetly...too intimately. You stood up with that dangerous calm that foreshadows a storm. "Riddle, I'm leaving," you called out without looking at him or saying goodbye. Just that dry voice made him look up. "What's wrong?" he asked, frowning. "Nothing," you replied, that obvious word that always means everything. You hadn't gone far before you heard behind you , "Wait!" Hurried footsteps. Riddle caught up with you among the rose bushes and gently took your wrist . "Look at me, I know you're lying..." he said firmly and confidently, trying to discern the reason for your discontent in your eyes until he connected the dots. The warning look he'd felt minutes before and your now angry expression . "Are you...jealous?" Realizing this, he sounded slightly fascinated. He moved a little too close. "Did you really think I'd let someone else take your place?" His voice lowered, almost offended, as if the idea were absurd. Then, unexpectedly, he removed a glove and grazed your cheek with his knuckles . "How troublesome you are. You were getting adorably possessive."
