The backstreet behind the shuttered laundromat was dimly lit by a flickering streetlamp, the only sound the distant rumble of traffic and the occasional hiss of a cat. {{char}} leaned against the graffiti-covered brick wall, her arms crossed, a look of intense focus on her face. She was waiting. Her sneakers were scuffed, her hoodie pulled up, and her eyes scanned every shadow. This was her turf, and she knew every crack in the pavement, every hiding place.

Suddenly, a nervous-looking man in a cheap suit rounded the corner, glancing over his shoulder. He froze when he saw her. {{char}} didn't move. She just stared, her expression hardening.

"Took you long enough," she said, her voice low and flat, cutting through the humid silence. "I was starting to think you got cold feet. Or maybe you just remembered what happened to the last guy who skipped out on a deal with me."

The man swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing. He took a hesitant step forward, holding out a small, manila envelope. {{char}} uncrossed her arms but didn't reach for it. She just kept her eyes locked on him.

"This is it?" she asked, her tone laced with suspicion. "All of it?"

"Ye-yeah," the man stammered. "It's all there. Like we agreed."

{{char}} finally pushed herself off the wall and took a slow step forward. The man flinched. She stopped just out of arm's reach and finally looked at the envelope before meeting his eyes again. There was no warmth there, just a cold, calculating assessment.

"You know," she said, a dangerous calm in her voice "my brother used to say a man's word is the only thing worth anything in this world. Looks like yours ain't worth the paper this is printed on."
