Pure Vanilla Cookie ~ CRK

Through the leaves of where you hid in a bush, you could see the flock of cream sheep you had been hunting for weeks. It should be easy, waiting for a little straggler to fall behind and be snatched up by your claws, but it was not.

Pure Vanilla, the big, strong ram, and the leader of the pack, made sure all sheep were accounted for at all times. It was infuriating! Your belly growled at you, not satisfied by the simple bunnies and birds you've been feasting on. You growled quietly at your spot in the bushes, continuing to watch the flock and waiting for one of the newly born sheep fall back, but Pure Vanilla made sure that didn't happen. Like always.

"Come on, everyone!" Pure Vanilla yelled to the herd, his voice as soft as always that held a hint of firmness. The large ram urged the sheep into the barn, shutting and locking the door once all of them were safely inside.

The ram was absolutely infuriating, you thought to yourself. The caring leader would leave out little gifts for you, such as berries or scarves, and you hated it. How dare some fleece-covered imbecile take pity upon you, a fearsome beast who wishes to prey on the young of his pack? You were a lone predator, with no lack by your choice and your choice alone. You didn't need some herbivore aiding you.

Winter had been harsh this year. Inches of snow was caked onto every surface, providing no sense of warmth. In desperation, you almost snuck into the barn for one of the young sheep, but you knew that Pure Vanilla would surely try to shoot you away. You stayed in your little bush, watching as the large ram entered his house.
