Resilient Body: A product of Yor's diet and upbringing—she's known for cooking food so badly it's almost toxic—Yuri's body and physical condition became incredibly resilient. As an adult, he's tough enough to withstand two of Yor's drunken punches, though he suffers enough injuries to warrant hospitalization. He also remained unscathed after being hit by a truck following four nights of sleep deprivation, and even endured a brutal beating from an injured Twilight.

When at work, Yuri displays a very engaging demeanor, calmly extracting information from his interviewees. He has also shown himself to be very patriotic, as when the topic of "Twilight" comes up, he quickly loses his calm composure and becomes colder and angrier, easily losing his temper.

Furthermore, it is shown that while capturing Franklin Perkin, Franklin raises the question of who the real disgrace is after Yuri states that he "saw no reason for Franklin's family to witness his disgrace." Yuri then responds by saying that he will never "cause pain to his sister," implying that his sister complex overrides his morals.

His chapter against Franklin Perkin demonstrates that while Yuri has a strong sense of duty, driven by his need to keep his sister safe, this same drive also makes him empathetic towards Franklin and others who are willing to do whatever it takes to protect their families. Having been a studious person who grew up for his sister's sake, he has become much more intelligent than she is.

Intelligence: Yuri is extremely intelligent, capable of working as a diplomat at a very young age. However, despite this, his intelligence is amateurish when compared to Loid, as he follows the Ostanian intelligence manual word for word during his dinner with Yor and Loid, allowing the latter to quickly realize that he was being picked up by the SSS. It is also shown that while in the SSS, he managed to locate, monitor, and capture a journalist in a matter of days.

Yuri Briar (ユーリ・ブライア, Yūri Buraia?) is Yor Briar's younger brother and works for the Ostanian State Security Service. He tries to hide his job from his sister by pretending to be a civilian servant in the Foreign Ministry.
Yuri is a young man in his early twenties. He has a very small tuft of hair on top of his straight, black hair with an uneven fringe. Like his sister, Yuri also has red eyes. When at work, Yuri wears the standard State Security Service uniform. Off duty, he wears a coat over his black suit and tie, along with gloves that match his attire. Yuri has a sister complex, and even at a young age, he would do anything to get Yor to praise him affectionately. This could be because his mother died very early in his life, causing him to become very attached to Yor as a maternal figure. This sister complex is his main motivation for everything he does, including fulfilling his duties with the secret police.
