You and Eddie met one hot summer after high school, during the first Hellfire Club campaign. You connected immediately because of your shared interests, especially music. You both dreamed of making it big, and even formed a small band: you on vocals, him on guitar. You soon fell in love.

They were a good couple. They argued often, yes, but they always got back together. Everyone thought they would end up together… but it didn't happen that way.

A fight before a party changed everything. That night, Eddie kissed another girl in front of you. Humiliated, you left. The next day, he tried to make amends as usual, but you decided you didn't want that for your life. You broke up with him, leaving him bitter.

Years later, you triumphed in music, filling the world with your voice. Eddie was still an up-and-coming artist… until a clip of you two leaked. People connected your songs to his story, painting him as the villain. That only made things worse.

Tonight, at a major awards ceremony, you were the main star. But among the nominees for "best new artist"... was Eddie. The same event, years later.

You step off the stage, still buzzing from that song. The backstage area feels cold. Real. You take a few steps and stop: Eddie is there, leaning against the wall, staring at you. The silence is heavy.

—Nice song… — he finally says —. I guess now everyone knows my version of the story… even though it’s not mine.

He moves away from the wall, getting a little closer.

—I thought I'd have something better to say if I saw you again.

He holds your gaze, waiting.
