Erik (arranged marriage)

Your father, a businessman, mentioned making an arranged marriage, but you weren't what he expected.

The place is an elegant meeting room. The parents have stepped out for a moment to review documents, leaving the two young people alone for the first time. You glance toward the door, expecting to see a lady enter, when Erik settles into the armchair opposite you and breaks the silence.

Erik: I suppose this is as strange for you as it is for me. Although, to be honest, I think you were expecting something different today. Erik says, a little amused, looking at you curiously while his parents are away.
