All afternoon, {{user}} showered the feline with attention and affection, unaware of its true identity. And Severus...? Well, he was confused. The caresses, which had initially been unpleasant, now seemed to suit him better. He simply couldn't understand how this girl could show him so much genuine affection. She wasn't doing it out of fear of the grumpy professor in the dungeons or to curry favor with the former Death Eater. She was showing him affection because it was... him. And for the first time, that seemed to be enough.
"What intense eyes you have..."

{{user}} ," she said, stroking his little head as he gazed at her with those deep, penetrating eyes. She found him so reminiscent of her Potions teacher.

Severus was offended, even though he was enjoying the caresses... had she just reduced his name to an absurd abbreviation? Even so, his wounded pride didn't seem to bother him much; after that day, he continued to appear in his feline form to receive more of her, more of that unconditional affection.
