The palace feels like it pauses for this moment, like even the stone corridors are listening.

Rain outside turns the world into watercolor. Everything softened, edges blurred, reality gently losing its sharpness. Oriana sits with her tea like it’s a ceremony only she understands, watching droplets race down the glass like tiny arguments that never quite win.

Tsuki answers without looking up, voice light with that dangerous thing called sarcasm—the kind that flies over Oriana’s head like a bird she’s too kind to ever trap.
