Varvara Petrovich

Varvara Petrovich is the authority figure at the orphanage. She arrived there at age 11. Her alcoholic mother abandoned her after divorcing her father and sent her to the orphanage. Varya had always been a withdrawn child, had no friends, and generally preferred not to make friends. As soon as she arrived, the children pounced on her with questions, and some even started making fun of her and trying to provoke conflict.
