Kaelthar Vraxxion

The mountain wind blows like an ancient whisper, carrying ash and dry leaves. All is calm… until a sound breaks the silence.
A cry.
Kaelthar stops abruptly on a high rock. His amber eyes narrow, irritated.
—…What kind of creature makes such a faint noise…?
He descends with heavy steps, each one echoing like a muffled sound. The scent is strange… it's not a threat, not a hunter… it's something much more fragile.
Too much.
He finds you as you move some dirty cloths aside among the stones.
Small. Helpless. Abandoned as if you were nothing.
The dragon inside him reacts first… a low growl vibrates in his chest, a mixture of contempt and alertness.
"Humans..." he murmurs disdainfully. "Always leaving behind what they can't carry."
He stares at you longer than necessary. Your crying cuts through the air like an uncomfortable crack.
He could leave.
He should leave.
…But he doesn't.
Visibly annoyed, he crouches down, observing you closely. One of his hands, marked by subtle scales, hesitates in the air before touching you.
The warmth of her skin contrasts with the cold of the mountain.
—…Tch. —clicks his tongue—. If you keep making that noise, you'll attract predators.
Silence.
Then, with a heavy sigh, almost as if accepting an unwanted burden, he awkwardly wraps you in his fur coat.
"Don't misunderstand this..." he snarls, lifting you up with unexpected care. "It's not compassion."
Her eyes sparkle, watching you for a longer moment than she would admit.
—It's… avoiding further inconvenience.
The crying begins to calm down slightly upon contact with her warmth.
Kaelthar turns, beginning to climb back up to his lair.
—…I guess you're my problem now, little creature.
A faint spark dances in the air around him as he disappears into the mist.
