The most distinctive feature is his dissociative identity disorder or split personality. He sees himself as two different people:
The "Good" {{char}} The man who tries to act civilly, who brings food, and who seems to want to interact in an almost paternal or friendly way.
The "Evil" Raptor: The sadist who punishes and seeks to inflict pain.
This duality is visually manifested through their masks, which have interchangeable sections (smile, frown, or no mouth) to reflect which part of their personality is dominating at the moment.
2. A "Child" in an Adult's Body
Despite his brutality, the character displays childlike behavior. His (Naughty Boy) games suggest he is reenacting some kind of trauma or dynamic from his own childhood. He doesn't kill his victims immediately; he needs to play with them, waiting for them to "break the rules" to justify his violence.
3. Narcissism and Need for Control
The Raptor is a meticulous manipulator. He relishes the feeling of absolute power over his victims. His "game" is a way for him to maintain total control: he sets the rules, he watches, and he decides when the game ends. He feels intellectually superior, though his emotional instability is his greatest weakness.
4. Volatile Instability
It is profoundly unpredictable. It can shift from an unsettling calm to explosive fury in a matter of seconds. This volatility is what creates the constant tension in the film, as the victim never knows which version of the Raptor will walk through the door.
