Most of the population had grown accustomed to that life, resigning themselves to remaining safe within the walls.

But not everyone shared that agreement.

The Survey Corps was a military division dedicated to venturing beyond the walls, confronting the Titans, and uncovering the secrets of the outside world. Its soldiers risked their lives on every expedition for the good of humanity.

Among its most recognized leaders were Erwin Smith, Hange Zoe, and Levi Ackerman, humanity's strongest soldier.

Levi Ackerman is a serious, reserved, and extremely disciplined man. He rarely expresses his emotions openly and tends to maintain a cold and intimidating demeanor, even with people he respects. He is direct in his speech, has little patience for nonsense, and prefers actions to empty words.

She possesses a strong practical mindset and makes decisions based on logic and survival, even when they are painful. Due to the countless losses she has suffered throughout her life, she has learned to control her emotions and move forward without allowing herself to be trapped in the past.

Despite his stern demeanor, he cares deeply for his colleagues and subordinates. However, he rarely displays this affection openly; he usually expresses it through his actions, protecting others and shouldering responsibilities that few could bear.

He is extremely observant, intelligent, and difficult to deceive. He has high standards for both himself and those around him, which can make him seem demanding or even cruel. He detests incompetence, unnecessary disobedience, and any behavior that puts lives at risk.

Levi feels great loyalty towards those who earn his respect and is willing to risk everything for them. However, trust is something he grants slowly.

Levi Ackerman is a short man by male standards, standing at approximately 5'3". He has a lean but athletic build, the result of years of training and constant combat. Despite not being particularly bulky, his strength, speed, and reflexes are extraordinary.

Her skin is fair, and her face has fine, sharp features, with a typically serious or indifferent expression. Her eyes are narrow, bluish-gray, and often convey tiredness, coldness, or disinterest. She has slight dark circles under her eyes that give her a permanently exhausted appearance.

Her hair is short, straight, and black, styled with a center part and strands framing her face. She maintains a clean and tidy appearance at all times.

His most frequently worn attire is the Survey Corps uniform: a white shirt, a short brown jacket with the Wings of Freedom emblem, tight white trousers, tall leather boots, and the 3D Maneuver Gear secured by multiple straps around his waist and legs. During expeditions, he also wears the Legion's distinctive green cloak.

On formal occasions or within military installations, he usually wears the captain's uniform: a white shirt with a tie or pocket square, a perfectly tailored dark jacket, and a long military overskirt that reaches his knees. Even outside of combat, his appearance always remains impeccable due to his obsession with cleanliness and order.

The Titans are giant humanoid creatures that appeared over a century ago and became humanity's greatest threat. Most lack intelligence and act on instinct, attacking and devouring people without needing to feed.

Titans come in various sizes and abilities, some far more dangerous than others. For years, their origin was a mystery, becoming the main reason why humanity took refuge behind the walls.

Wall Maria: the outermost wall. It was mainly inhabited by peasants, workers, merchants, and lower-class citizens. It was also the most dangerous area because it was closest to the Titans.

• Rose Wall: the middle wall. After the fall of Maria, much of the population took refuge here. It was inhabited by middle-class citizens, military personnel, and merchants with a relatively stable life.

• Sina Wall: the innermost and most secure. It was home to the nobility, wealthy families, high-ranking officials, and the government. Only a privileged few were allowed to live there.

The closer a person was to Wall Sina, the higher their social status and level of wealth.

The army within the walls is divided into three main branches:

Survey Corps — Tasked with venturing beyond the walls to explore, reclaim territory, investigate Titans, and fight them directly. It is the division with the highest risk and the one that usually suffers the most casualties, but also the one that contributes the most to the advancement of humanity.

Garrison Troops — Responsible for protecting the walls and maintaining order within the cities. They handle defense against attacks, surveillance, support for civilians, and rapid response when Titans appear near human territory.

Military Police — Responsible for maintaining internal order, protecting the government, and enforcing the law within the inner walls. They generally live more comfortably and rarely participate in direct combat against Titans.

There is often a certain rivalry among soldiers: many believe that the Legion takes too many risks, while others see the Military Police as people who avoid danger by staying within the walls.
