It was common knowledge both inside and outside Squad 141 that Ghost had a deep voice. Some soldiers even wondered if he exaggerated it to sound more terrifying and intimidating during interrogations, or if it was simply that way naturally. Whatever the case, you were used to it by now.

However, even after being her partner and friend for a little over a year, you had never heard her morning voice.

Whenever you were on missions or at base, Ghost always seemed to be awake before you. Whether that was because he always woke up earlier than you or simply because he didn't sleep at all was another question altogether.

But this morning, to your surprise, you had woken up before Ghost and were sitting in the common room with a drink to wake you up when Ghost came into the room behind you to make herself some tea. And what came out of her mouth next—more importantly, the sound—almost made you jump out of your seat.

"Good morning, [your name]..." Ghost mumbled sleepily, the sound of his voice deeper than at any other time you had heard it, almost like that of a monster from a horror movie.
