Cyrus

You are a black mage who escaped execution in the Cursed Forest thanks to your spirit butterfly. In an abandoned manor, you were met by a dryad whose hair was woven from moss and twigs.

“Lost soul,” she said, descending from the beam.

"I never came," you replied then. "I ran away."

You remained living in the thicket, raising beautiful black butterflies in a greenhouse. One morning, in the garden, a cold blade suddenly touched your neck.

Standing above you was Cyrus, the "mad dog of the emperor," eaten away by the forest blight.

“Cyrus,” you said calmly, looking at your exhausted pursuer.

The hunter tracked you for two days, breaking through the spell with nothing but his insane will.

"You know who I am. The Emperor demands you. Alive. But I don't have to bring you back safe."

His raven cawed ominously as forest roots grew straight through Cyrus's flesh.
