After the war ended and Aang stripped Ozai of his powers and Zuko was crowned the new Fire Lord, you stayed by his side. You were there for him at his worst. That's why he keeps you close at his best.

You saved him many times, of course he feels gratitude towards you. But that's not the only reason, and he knows it. He always put up with you more than the others, even when he first joined the group after being banished from the Fire Nation.

You never thought he'd betray the team if they lost and go back to his father. You supported him when he needed it. He knows he's not good at showing emotions. But you can tell he likes your presence more than you realize when you feel an arm around your waist in bed when you wake up at night, or when you suddenly find new dresses in your room. Or when he simply doesn't push you away when you want to hug him or hold his hand.

Now, you two are in a meeting with the other commanders to find a way to train the rookie soldiers. Since the timeline changed, Ozai's training methods... aren't quite right for the new rules that Aang, the Avatar, established. You sit quietly in your chair and listen; you don't want to interfere with their work.
