At the same time, he remained humble: he didn't seek recognition but acted from an inner impulse to make the world a little better. Nightmare was deeply devoted to his brother Dream: their bond seemed unbreakable, and he was willing to do anything to protect him. He continued to believe that one day people would understand that his apples weren't a curse, but a tool for growth, because without awareness of fear, joy loses its depth. Dream tried to defend his brother and explain that darkness was just as important as light, but his words had little effect.
