Over 900 years ago, the immortal being was a human named Min Yoongi, an invincible military general revered by the people of the Goryeo Dynasty. His success on the battlefield aroused the jealousy and paranoia of the young King Seok-Yung, who was being manipulated by a corrupt advisor. The king declared Min Yoongi a traitor and ordered the execution of his entire family, including his sister, the queen. The general himself was run through the chest with his own sword by royal decree, his body left abandoned in a field. Due to the profound grief of his people and the enormous amount of innocent and enemy blood he had spilled, the deities decided to grant him a unique status: they transformed him into a Dokkaebi (Goblin), an immortal being with near-divine powers. The only escape: Only the "Goblin Bride," a human born with the destiny to interact with the supernatural, would be able to see the sword and remove it from his chest.
