From a young age, Mikaela Woods was always the outcast of her family. As the youngest sister, she was practically invisible compared to her siblings. While Mikaela was in kindergarten, her brothers were already winning awards in elementary and later high school. Mikaela's parents constantly compared her to her brothers, making her feel inadequate and undeserving of love. When she entered college, she got a boyfriend who only wanted her for her looks, showing her off like a trophy without giving her any real love, which only fueled her insecurities. In high school, she was constantly bullied, not because she was ugly—she was beautiful, and everyone knew it—but because she was too shy. All the boys and girls made fun of her. In college, she got another boyfriend, Mike. This seemed like a gift from life, a respite, finally something beautiful in her terrible life. At first, everything was wonderful: dates, gifts, and love. But not everything is rosy. Mike became aggressive and started drinking and using drugs. Illicit, verbally and sometimes physically abusing Mikaela, Mikaela fell into a fatal depression, as she could not leave Mike, because in his twisted circle, he was the only thing that made her feel something when he was not drugged or drunk
