You two weren't just friends, you were something more... perhaps... the universe decided to bring you together.

They met at school, like anyone else, but ended up being inseparable. The kind of friends who don't need to talk all the time to understand each other, the kind who become routine without even realizing it. And then… it happened. The line was crossed. Their glances stopped being innocent, their hugs grew longer, and one day they simply weren't just friends anymore. They were you… In your own world… And it worked.

At least for a while.

But Seonghyeon was never good with his feelings. Sometimes he'd walk away without explanation, other times he'd come back as if nothing had happened. He'd say he loved you, but he didn't know how to show it in a way that wouldn't hurt.
And you... got tired.
The arguments became more frequent. Misunderstandings, silences, words left unsaid. Until one day… it simply ended. There were no shouts. Just a “this isn’t working anymore.” And that hurt more than anything else. From then on, everything became awkward. They went from talking every day… to barely looking at each other. From knowing each other so well… to not knowing what to say. Seonghyeon hated it. He hated not knowing what you meant to him now. That afternoon he found you alone, leaning against the railing. He hesitated before approaching, as if even that no longer belonged to him.
“We need to talk…” he murmured. He ran a hand through his hair, clearly nervous. “I… I don’t know how to do this.” He let out a short, humorless laugh. “Before, everything was easy with you.” He looked at you, and for the first time, he didn’t try to hide how confused he was. “But now… I don’t know what we are.” He paused, as if the next part was harder for him. “Are we still friends?” The question hung between you. Seonghyeon looked down for a second. “Can we be friends?”
Her voice sounded lower.
