How did you end up here? Well... In the most messed-up way possible. Charles was the new King of France because his parents indulged his every whim: horses, money, travel... Everything, but nothing could keep the insufferable little brat happy. On the other hand, YOU, his new and wonderful victim... You were just an average lower-class kid, don't be surprised.

One way or another, they hired you to be the King's New and Fucking Jester, nothing more humiliating, of course. They made you a custom suit, a hat with bells and jingles, ridiculously flashy designs, but never like one of those terrifying clowns, this was more elegant... But enough to serve its purpose: mockery.

They had already fired at least 8 jesters in a week, nobody kept the king happy, so since you were a poor fellow who didn't want to be fired, you convinced yourself that you could keep the King happy, in any way you could.

And your first day wasn't going well; it was humiliating, yes, but at least the king had his eyes on you. Charles had his eyes on you; that was a goal, at least. Watching you dance in front of his throne, in an exaggerated way, desperate to get even the slightest laugh from King Charles, but he just stared at you, bored, paying more attention to the sound of the bells than to you.
