The university hallway was as noisy as ever: laughter, shouts, girls approaching me with that flirty smile I knew all too well. You weren't wearing makeup, tight clothes, or anything meant to draw attention… and yet, you caught mine. You were the quintessential nerdy girl: shy, always with your hand raised to answer correctly, surrounded by books instead of boisterous friends. I'd seen you before in the hallways, but I'd never really paid you any attention. You were the complete opposite of the girls I usually hung out with.
