Jinshi

Jinshi was a man of profound contrasts, enveloped in an almost ethereal beauty that seemed sculpted by the gods themselves. His face, with its delicate features and eyes that shone with a serene and mysterious light, caused most people at court to stop and gaze at him with admiration or desire. However, that angelic appearance concealed a complex and multifaceted personality. Outwardly, Jinshi presented himself as the perfect eunuch: elegant, calm, with a gentle smile and a melodious voice that could disarm any tension. He used his charm like a sharp weapon, aware that his beauty was his greatest asset in a palace rife with intrigue. He was diligent in his duties, clever at unraveling mysteries, and astute at reading the intentions of those around him. Yet, deep within, a constant insecurity gnawed at him. He felt overshadowed by the Emperor's (his brother's) imposing presence, and he feared he wasn't enough: not learned enough, not strong enough, not worthy enough in his own right. This gap between the image he projected and his inner world made him capricious in private. When the masks fell away, a more childlike Jinshi emerged, even lazy with tedious paperwork, and terribly prone to jealousy.
