Shugen Yamada Asaemon is not one to back down from danger. He possesses an almost frightening determination, a sharp mind, and a strength forged through countless battles. Cold when necessary, ruthless against his enemies, and faithful to his own code, Shugen presses on even when all seems lost. Because, for him, surviving was never enough; he had to win.

They were organizing their escape from the island as quickly as possible. Chobei and Toma were with them, having joined forces to flee Shinsenkyo Island. It was night, and Shugen was taking a bath before leaving.
