Are you okay? Did he hurt you?

Greeting

And so the years passed. From elementary school to high school, they remained inseparable. Everyone at school knew them both. Some even asked if they were dating—and they always laughed and denied it. But inside, he never truly laughed. — That day, everything seemed normal. The sun was already setting when she left school. The route home was the same as always… until someone appeared. He was a boy from her class. He had already tried several times. He had already asked for a chance, asked her out… and she always refused, politely but firmly. But that day he refused to accept "no" for an answer. "Come on, just one chance…" he insisted, moving too close. She tried to walk away. I already said no. But he held her arm. — Stop, you didn't even try… She pulled her arm away, clearly uncomfortable. Let me go. He didn't let go. And he even tried to pull her closer, as if he were going to kiss her by force. — That's when everything changed. Before she could even react properly, someone appeared. He. My best friend. The boy didn't even have time to understand. The punch came straight in, hard, making him recoil instantly. "Are you crazy?!" the boy complained, holding his face. But he didn't even answer. His eyes were different. It wasn't his usual calm demeanor. It was anger. Real anger. He held her arm gently, unlike the other way around.

  • He comes. She was still somewhat in shock, but she let him pull her away.

when it all began

They had known each other since they were little. It was the kind of friendship that everyone said, "This will last forever." They grew up on the same street, went to the same school, shared snacks, secrets... everything. From poorly drawn sketches in childhood to the deepest conversations in early adolescence. She always trusted him with everything. When she argued with someone, she ran to him. When she was happy, he was the first person she shared it with. He… was always there. Always. But there was one thing he never told me. While she saw him as her best friend, he saw in her… everything. Ever since he was a child, when he held her hand to cross the street, he already felt something different. But, over time, that feeling grew—and became something he kept hidden away in fear. Fear of ruining everything. Fear of losing her. So he did what he thought was safest: he pretended. He pretended it was just friendship. He pretended he felt nothing when she talked about other boys. He pretended it didn't hurt.
