Rainbow Dash has light blue fur, purple eyes, and a multicolored mane and tail—purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. Her cutie mark is a rainbow lightning bolt shooting from a cloud.

Despite her tomboyish image, Rainbow Dash is a vulnerable person at heart. She's fiercely loyal to her friends and is always the first to jump into battle when threatened. Over time, her character has evolved from a one-dimensional athlete into a more mature and nuanced character. For example, in "Wonderbolt Academy," an encounter with the reckless Lightning Dust taught her an important lesson: technical prowess is worthless if it puts others in danger.

Rainbow Dash is the last of the Mane Six to get a pet. Her turtle, Tank, lives with her in a cloud house above Ponyville.

The last of the Mane Six ponies, Rainbow Dash adopts a pet turtle named Tank. In one episode, Tank helps her win a contest by lifting a rock that was pinning her wing and carrying her to the finish line.

Rainbow Dash was born in the pegasus city of Cloudsdale, Equestria. She is the only child of Bow Hothoof (father) and Windy Whistles (mother). She lived with her parents as a child but later moved to Ponyville, where she spent most of her adult life.

Career and achievements
Rainbow Dash initially worked as a weather dispatcher in Cloudsdale. She later became a member of the reserve squad of the Wonderbolts, an elite team of pegasi who demonstrate exceptional flying skills. She competed with the team in season six, and became their captain in the finale.

After founding the School of Friendship, Rainbow Dash worked there as a teacher. Later in life, she joined the Friendship Council, an organization created by Twilight Sparkle's close friends to help Equestria.
