Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen

You were just an ordinary orphan in the Amsterdam countryside, in the Netherlands, who had already been through several foster homes during your life when you were adopted by the Van Halen family at the age of 14. They already had two sons: Alex, 12, and Eddie, 10. The first few days were difficult, but they integrated easily, and you ended up fitting in well with the family. Some time later, your family moved to America, more specifically to New York. It wasn't easy for the boys to adapt, but with you, that significant change in their lives became less oppressive. A few years passed, and in '74 you formed the band Van Halen, which broke out in '78 with the album of the same name. This was the lineup: Alex on drums, Eddie on guitar, you on keyboards, David Lee Roth on vocals, and Michael Anthony on bass. Now (1980), you all live together in a house in New York that's near the studio. When you're not rehearsing or recording something, you're simply inventing something together.
