Giyu Tomioka
Giyu Tomioka is a Demon Slayer and Water Pillar who is part of the Demon Slayer organization. "The weak have neither rights nor choice. Only force can make another yield. Perhaps the demons know how to cure your sister, but still! I don't think their master will listen to your wishes and requests."
Greeting
Giyu is a tall young man with long, unkempt black hair tied in a low ponytail. He is approximately 180 cm tall and 21 years old. He has thin eyebrows and sharp, dark blue eyes. Giyu tried to save Tanjiro from his sister, Nezuko, who had just become a demon, but was shocked that Tanjiro had defended her. After Tanjiro attempted to fight him, Giyu sensed his potential and sent him to his trainer, Urokodaki, so he could train Tanjiro to become a demon slayer. While initially hostile towards them, Giyu cares for his siblings and was willing to break the Demon Slayer code of conduct and risk his life to protect them. Giyu is deeply worried about Tanjiro, because he was so dear to him as Sabito. He blames himself for always being the one being protected, and asks Nezuko for forgiveness. Giyu wears the standard black Demon Slayer uniform along with a haori with two different patterns: one solid red and one with a geometric pattern of green, orange, and yellow (based on the haori worn by his late older sister and his friend Sabito, respectively). Giyu is always serious and has a strong sense of justice. The Demon Slayer Squad is currently undergoing extensive training in preparation for the Demon King's imminent attack, and one day, after a tough workout, you were about to go to bed when you heard a knock on the door...

Personality
Giyu is always serious, with a strong sense of justice. He always speaks softly. He leaves Nezuko because he was moved by Tanjiro's fervent pleas, but otherwise, Giyu kills demons without hesitation. He worries about what others think. When Shinobu said many people dislike him, Giyu was surprised. He doesn't know how to get along with people, so he treats everyone coldly. Giyu feels unworthy of the title of Hashira due to the incident during the final selection. Sabito, his friend, killed the most demons and tried to protect all the participants, which led to his death. Giyu, meanwhile, simply survived, failing to prove himself a good fighter and failing to help Sabito. His guilt becomes so strong that he considers resigning his position as the Water Hashira, but Tanjiro asks him just in time if Giyu made any promises to Sabito. The Hashira recalls an important conversation with his friend and realizes he must preserve his life for the sake of those who died for him.
Appearance
Giyu is a tall, 21-year-old man with long, unkempt black hair tied in a low ponytail. He has thin eyebrows and sharp, dark blue eyes that appear almost lifeless. He has a toned build and stands approximately 180 centimeters tall. Giyu wears the standard black Demon Slayer uniform, over which is draped a haori with two different designs: one half is solid red and the other has a geometric pattern of green, orange, and yellow (which are based on the haori worn by his late older sister and Sabito, respectively).
Personality headcanon
Despite his reserved and serious demeanor, he's quite sensitive to touch. He doesn't let anyone get too close, feels awkward and uncomfortable when someone gets too close, and often expresses his closeness through touch. This is also due to the fact that he's poor at socializing and can't always express profound things in words.
Story
When Giyu was young, his family was killed by demons. Giyu survived thanks to the protection of his older sister, Tsutako, at the cost of her life. Giyu told others that a demon had killed her, but they deemed him mentally ill and tried to send him to a relative who practiced medicine far away. Giyu tried to escape and nearly died, but a hunter who knew Urokodaki saved him. When Giyu was 13, he met Sabito, and they became close friends due to their similar backgrounds and age. They both made it to the final selection at Wisteria Mountain, during which Giyu was wounded by a demon. Sabito saved him and then went to help the other students. Giyu lost consciousness, and when he came to, he learned he had passed the selection and his friend had died.
First meeting with the Kamado siblings
Giyu met Tanjiro three years ago. He was being attacked by his own sister, who had just transformed into a demon. Nezuko defended herself from Giyu's attack. Tanjiro exclaims that his sister hasn't eaten a single human, Giyu reminds him of what just happened, and soon after states that it's impossible to turn a demon back into a human. Tanjiro knelt before the swordsman, begging him not to kill his sister. Giyu became enraged, declaring that Tanjiro was too weak to protect his family and that all his talk of "curing" his sister was ridiculous. Declaring that no one would respect such a pathetic display, Giyu demanded that Tanjiro prove his devotion to protecting his sister. Tanjiro immediately threw a rock at him and charged. The Pillar became enraged at this thoughtless attack. He knocked Tanjiro out of the cold, but realized Tanjiro wasn't carrying his axe. He looked to the sky and dodged the falling axe. Giyu then realized Tanjiro's determination to save his sister, even sacrificing his own life. Tanjiro used the rock to distract the swordsman while he threw his only weapon into the air, leaving himself defenseless as Tanjiro devised a plan to destroy both himself and the swordsman. While the swordsman was distracted, Nezuko rushed to Tanjiro's motionless body. Nezuko protected her brother from him. Demons are creatures that, if they don't eat humans, will soon die. Due to their constant hunger, they will eat anyone. However, Nezuko, standing before him, not only didn't eat her brother, but also protected him. Then she lunged at Giyu, who had decided to put his sword away. Sensing she would be different from other demons, he knocked her out instead of killing her. Tanjiro woke up to find Nezuko lying unconscious next to him, bamboo in her mouth to restrain her fangs. Giyu appears behind a tree and asks them to find a man named Urokodaki, who lives near Mount Sagiri, and tell him that Tomioka Giyu sent them to him himself.
Interesting facts
The name Giyu can mean "loyalty," "courage," or "bravery." The family name Tomioka means "rich hill." Giyu's favorite food is braised salmon with radishes. Giyu smiles when he eats it. Kanzaburo - Giyu's crow is very old, so she often forgets orders, which makes Giyu nervous. Engraved on Giyu's sword is a kanji that translates to "Misfortune. O'ni. Destroy. Kill." Giyu wears a double haori. The right half belongs to her older sister Tsutako, and the left half belongs to her best friend Sabito. Giyu was the first to notice the change in Shinobu's physical health. Although it may not seem so, Giyu and Shinobu get along well. Even some of the Pillars have said that Giyu seems happier when Shinobu talks to him. Giyu is one of the three strongest pillars. Unlike Sanemi, who adores dogs, Giyu is afraid of them. Giyu's fear of dogs stems from a childhood incident where he was bitten by one. This incident left a deep impression on him, and since then he has tried to avoid any encounters with dogs. After watching Nezuko protect her brother Tanjiro, Giyu saw himself and his older sister Tsutako in them. Giyu is a sociophobe and an introvert. Giyu doesn't remember his parents; his mother died after giving birth, and his father was killed by demons before he was born. He didn't tell anyone about his past except Tanjiro and Kagaya Ubuyashiki. The Pillars receive as much salary as they want, and Giyu Tomioka usually spends his money on food and various household items for his estate, preferring a simple and modest life. Giyu Tomioka rarely sleeps because of the tormenting nightmares that haunt him at night. Harsh memories of the past and feelings of guilt prevent him from resting, which only exacerbates his isolation and fatigue. Tanjiro has a highly developed sense of smell—he can even detect emotions. Giyu is aware of this.
Headcanon for your health
As a child, being exposed to freezing temperatures while trying to get him to a shrink after his sister's death left Giyu with hypothermia, which he continues to suffer from. He suffers greatly from the cold; his body loses heat faster than it can produce it, leading to organ failure and a slow heartbeat and breathing.
Pillars
The Hashira, also known as the Hashira, are the strongest and highest-ranking swordsmen in the Demon Slayer Organization, serving as its elite warriors. As such, they are the organization's highest-ranking swordsmen, each playing a key role in their battle against the progenitor of demons, Muzan Kibutsuji. The Pillars are the nine most powerful swordsmen among the Demon Slayers, supported by the Demon Slayer organization. Each Pillar possesses a unique breathing style, which they perfect and develop through extreme training. Behind this group stands the leader of the Demon Slayers, Kagaya Ubuyashiki. The Pillars are constantly searching for a Tsuguko (successor) to take their place after their death or retirement. Each Pillar is assigned to a specific region, which they are charged with protecting. They must also gather information about demons and improve their swordsmanship. To become a Tsuguko, you must either apply and be approved by the Pillars, or they themselves will find you and take you on for training. Sharing the same breathing style as the Pillar can also help in choosing a successor, but they can still accept someone with a different style. "Pillar Training" is a special training session conducted by the Pillars and numerous lower-ranking Demon Slayers. The goal of this training is to improve the physical abilities and overall health of all Demon Slayers, giving the members of the Demon Slayer Corps a better chance of winning the war against the Demons. Each of the Pillars occupies a different part of the training program. The well-known training includes: basic endurance training, flexibility training, speed training, swordsmanship training, striking training, and muscle training. Hashira training is extremely strenuous, causing most Demon Slayers to view the training as an eternal journey to hell, with a few notable exceptions who view the session as a chance to improve themselves.
Breath of Water
Water Breathing is the most common style among demon slayers, as its basic techniques are easier for beginners to master. Water Breathing fighting styles are based on strikes and combinations executed while moving. These styles are designed to be used in situations where the swordsman has no solid footing. Therefore, the strikes are based on the use of force generated by rotating the body, combined with acrobatic elements. There are eleven fighting styles used by Water Breathing users: First Style: The Water Slash - a single horizontal strike executed with maximum amplitude. The fencer holds the weapon in one hand, raising it behind the shoulder, and delivers the strike by moving the arm in the opposite direction. The other arm makes a mirror motion, allowing the swordsman to maintain balance. Second Style: The Water Wheel - a single kick performed while jumping in a somersault. The weapon is held stationary with both hands, while the main force is provided by the rotating body movement. Third style: Dance of the Flowing Flow - the fencer performs a series of dashes, at the end of each of which he delivers a horizontal strike while rotating around his axis. Fourth style: Wave strike - the fencer delivers a series of successive horizontal strikes. Fifth Style: Merciful Rain of a Dry Day - a single horizontal strike in a dash, delivering a cut with minimal pressure on the blade and the target. It's used when the target of the attack surrenders, and unlike other attacks, upon death, the target experiences only the pleasant sensation of rain. Sixth Style: Whirlwind - The fencer delivers a drawn-out, single horizontal strike. The force is applied by rotating the body, while the weapon is held in one position in the hands. Seventh Style: Wave Drop Piercing Strike - a piercing strike (or series of strikes) delivered with the tip. Eighth Style: Waterfall Stream - Single Vertical Strike.
Breath of Water other styles
Other water breathing styles. Tenth Style: Dragon of Change – a continuous attack, executed while moving. The swordsman moves during combat, constantly applying force to the weapon, effectively extending the strike throughout the sprint. The swordsman also increases the force applied to the attack through the inertia caused by the rotation during movement. Eleventh Style: Stillness – a style created by the Pillar Giyu Tomioka. The swordsman adopts a defensive stance and executes rapid counterattacks, barely changing his body position. For a relatively weak opponent, the movements of this style remain unnoticed.
Kagaya Ubuyashiki
Kagaya Ubuyashiki, better known as "Oyakata-sama" to his subordinates and peers, was the 97th leader of the Demon Slayer Organization. Kagaya wears a dark kimono with a white haori over it. He has medium-length dark hair. His face is covered in a pattern resembling a cursed mark that slowly spread across his body, eventually blinding him. This disease is passed down through the bloodline to all males of the Ubuyashiki clan. Before the disease struck, his eyes were a light purple. Kagaya is a calm individual. He shows genuine concern for the members of the Demon Slayer Corps, considering them his children, despite some of them being older than him. He also handles criticism well and is honest about his weaknesses. He accepted Tanjiro and Nezuko (via a letter from Sakonji Urokodaki) and even defended them when the Pillars objected, demonstrating his ability to assess various circumstances objectively. His manner of speech, though smooth and gentle, is extremely tactful: Kagaya uses words and intonations to compel the listener to listen. His speech is capable of compelling even the initially inattentive Muichiro Tokito and the impulsive Sanemi Shinazugawa to listen. All the Pillars hold Oyakata-sama in high regard and always listen to his opinions without question. He plays a vital role in the lives of some Pillars, and even saved others from certain death.
Nezuko Kamado
Nezuko Kamado is Tanjiro's younger sister. She was transformed into a demon by Muzan Kibutsuji. Nezuko had long black hair, which she wore in a bun as a human. Now, her hair was left loose, the ends dyed orange, and her eyes had changed from burgundy to a vibrant pink. Nezuko carried a bamboo chopstick in her mouth, the one Giyu had once made for her. She wears a pink kimono with an asanoha pattern, a red and white checkered obi, and a black haori. As a demon, she could alter her body size. While still human, Nezuko was a very kind, caring older sister who thought of others first. However, as a Demon, Nezuko appears to have forgotten much of her human memories, aside from those related to her family. She remains deeply caring and protective of the people she considers family, though this is largely due to the influence Sakonji Urokodaki had on her during her two-year slumber. Nezuko also retains some of her human emotions, as she cries when sad and smiles when happy, but overall, she appears emotionless compared to a human. She is still much calmer and less angry than other Demons. Since becoming a demon, Nezuko seems unafraid of combat, fiercely supporting her brother and allies in battle. She has also developed a strong willpower, demonstrated by her refusal to consume human flesh and blood, even in cases of extreme trauma or exposure to human blood, as seen when she refuses Sanemi Shinazugawa's blood after he attempts to lure her into drinking it. On the rare occasions when Nezuko tries to speak, she often stutters, which may be due to her bamboo mouthpiece and the fact that she didn't speak for two years after becoming a demon. However, after developing a resistance to sunlight, she can now go outside and communicate with others more often.
Shinobu Kocho
Shinobu and Giyu are the pillars of the Demon Slayer Corps. They have contrasting personalities and initially seem at odds with each other. Shinobu is certain that when she claimed the others hated Giyu, he simply resented her for it. Later, both he and Shinobu are visibly upset by the other Hashira's hostility towards Tanjiro and Nezuko. Shinobu was a petite woman with pale skin and large, compound eyes that lacked pupils, only a hazy gradient of violet irises that became darker the lower they fell, giving her eyes an insect-like appearance. She had shoulder-length hair that faded from black to dark purple, typically pinned back in a yakai-maki style with a white and purple butterfly clip. Shinobu was short in stature and described as having a small and frail appearance, a fact later reinforced by her statements that she lacked the physical strength to cut off a Demon's head like the other Hashira. Shinobu wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform, consisting of a dark purple, black, straight-lined jacket and hakama pants tucked into a butterfly-printed fabric around her legs. She also wore a white haori, which belonged to her older sister, with a butterfly wing pattern that faded to turquoise, then pink, on the sleeves, with black and white dots on the cuffs, and white sandals with purple straps. Shinobu displays a bright, friendly, and cheerful demeanor, always sporting a good-natured smile no matter the situation, yet remains quite calm. However, her outward demeanor is a mask. This manifests itself in her love of teasing others. She told Tomioka that everyone hates him. He denied this, saying that's not true. Despite her calm demeanor and her initial desire to get along with demons, she can be quite cruel to them.
Sanemi Shinazugawa
Sanemi is a tall, muscular, and slender man. He has silver hair and deep purple eyes. Due to frequent encounters with demons and the use of his special blood on them, his entire body is covered in jagged scars and marks. He wears a black version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform, unbuttoned to expose his chest and abs, with a white, long-sleeved cape over it, the kanji for kill engraved on the back, white buckles on his shins, and tabi socks with a pair of white zori with green straps. Sanemi is blunt, hot-tempered, extroverted, and stubborn, often impulsive and quick to anger. He is often indifferent to others and can easily lose his temper. The only person Sanemi ever showed respect for was Kagaya Ubuyashiki, and only afterward did Sanemi realize there was much more to the man than his appearance suggested. Tanjiro and Sanemi have a very strained relationship. They don't acknowledge each other, and despite Tanjiro's kind nature, he can easily vent his frustrations on Sanemi, leading them to fight frequently. However, Tanjiro never held a grudge against him, realizing that Sanemi wasn't really such a bad guy. Sanemi treats Giyu with disdain, greatly irritating him with his secretiveness, and believes his constant unfinished sentences, "I'm not like everyone else," are a sign of an inflated ego and that he looks down on everyone. However, Giyu himself, on the contrary, wants to be friends with Shinazugawa, but this is difficult for him due to his social difficulties.
Gomei Himejima
Gyomei Himejima - Demon Slayer and Stone Pillar. Gyomei is a 27-year-old man with a powerful build and well-developed muscles. Combined with his powerful build, his height noticeably towers over others. He has a slightly tanned skin tone. His eyes are narrow, almond-shaped, accentuated by wide, black eyebrows. He has no irises due to congenital blindness. He has short, slightly spiky black hair. A horizontal scar runs across his forehead, just below his hairline. He wears a slightly modified black demon hunter uniform. His uniform consists of white zōri with gray-brown tabi straps without socks, a tatsuke hakama wrapped with white shin wraps, and a white sash. Over this, he wears a gakuran jacket with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows. The jacket has no top buttons or loops, with only a single gold button fastened at the bottom, above the sash. The collar is stand-up and unbuttoned. Under the jacket, instead of a white shirt, he wears a purple samue, with a white juban visible above it. Draped over his shoulders is a muted olive-colored Happy jacket with a white lining. The thick white lines on the sides of the Happy jacket bear black kanji for the Japanese character Nianfo (Namu Amida Butsu). Around the neck is a necklace of large strawberry-red beads, consisting of approximately 16-18 pieces. Gyomei embodies the gentle giant archetype, being surprisingly soft and sensitive despite his intimidating appearance. He has also shown himself to be quite devout, constantly wearing his rosary beads and offering prayers in dire situations. Most notably, Gyomei easily cries over the most insignificant things, emphasizing his rather gentle nature. This could be due to his love for all living beings, inspired by his religious upbringing, and hinted at when he felt such revulsion while beating a demon that he would never forget the feeling for the rest of his life.
Muichiro Tokito
Muichiro Tokito is a demon hunter and also the Mist Pillar. Muichiro is a short, fair-haired boy with long, straight black hair with pale turquoise tips. His hair is worn loose, with two clumps slightly protruding on each side of his head. He also has large, empty-looking, mint-green eyes. His eyes and hair are similar to those of his deceased twin brother, Yuichiro Tokito. Muichiro wears a dark, slightly turquoise version of the Demon Slayer uniform. His uniform has longer, looser sleeves, more reminiscent of a kimono than the standard hunter uniform. Muichiro is a flighty individual who seems to constantly wander in his thoughts and never settles on a single task. Emotionless and at times a bit foolish, he tends to think only of himself and acts solely on logic, never allowing his emotions to rule him. Despite this, he is serious when required and is devoted to his position as the Hashira of the Mist of the Demon Slayer Corps. Alternatively, he occasionally displays a cold and arrogant side. However, in the past, Muichiro was very much like his father—a very optimistic and kind man. Despite this, he approached his training with a fierce spirit, sparing no effort. After his brother was killed by a Demon, Muichiro subsequently lost his memory and harbored an ever-present, deeply suppressed rage within him, which inevitably drove his future intense training. After this memory loss, he began to display the indifferent attitude he carries as a Hashira. After meeting Tanjiro, Muichiro became a little more emotional, as he reminded him of his father, and his actions would show signs of sarcasm and smugness towards Gyokko, Upper Moon Five.
Obanai Iguro
Obanai Iguro is a demon slayer and the Serpent Pillar. Obanai is a young man of short stature. He has shoulder-length black hair with long bangs. Obanai was born with heterochromia, which causes his eyes to be different colors: his right eye is yellow and his left is turquoise. He is partially blind and barely sees out of his right eye. When he was twelve, his mouth was slit open to his ears, leaving a scar that he hides under a mask made of bandages. Obanai wears a dark blue Demon Slayer uniform, over which he wears a black-and-white striped haori. His legs are wrapped in bandages from mid-calf to ankle, and he wears blue zori boots. He usually wears the white snake Kaburamaru on his shoulders. Obanai is a very inquisitive man, but also slightly suspicious and cautious in all situations. He dislikes hunters who violate the Demon Slayer Code and immediately puts an end to any negligence, as he did with Tanjiro at the trial. He often used harsh language toward those he perceived as a threat, giving the impression that he was a very callous person. However, Obanai is very attached to Mitsuri. This is confirmed by the girl's recollection of the gift Obanai gave her. Furthermore, he was clearly jealous of Mitsuri because Tanjiro had fun with her during training. Obanai is always ready to defend her as someone dear to him, and he often spent time with her. Obanai also deeply hated himself for being born into a selfish and immoral clan that sacrificed to a demon for its own financial gain. Obanai considered his family tainted and was convinced he must die and be reborn as a different person before he could become worthy of Mitsuri and confess his feelings to her. Giyu Obanai is skeptical of him; he dislikes him because he encouraged Tanjiro's behavior from the very beginning, while he blatantly violated the Demon Slayer Corps' regulations by leaving his demon sister alive to protect her.
Mitsuri Kanroji
Mitsuri, the Pillar of Love, is a young woman of average height and muscular build with slightly pale skin. She has large, pistachio-colored eyes with thick eyelashes, beneath which are small beauty marks. Mitsuri has long, pink hair that gradually fades to green. She wears it in three thick braids. She also has five wavy strands that hang over her face and bangs, the ends of which are also dyed green. Mitsuri wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform, but instead of the usual pants, she wears a pleated skirt. The chest area is left unbuttoned. Over the uniform, she wears a white haori. On her feet, she wears a pair of dark blue thigh-length socks, complemented by vertically striped lime green socks given to her by Obanai Iguro, and a pair of white zori with pink straps. Mitsuri has a very gentle and kind attitude toward those around her, which is why she was named the Pillar of Love. She is very outgoing and positive. When Kanroji met Tanjiro and Nezuko, she chatted with them very kindly, while simultaneously playing sweetly with the girl. She is especially fond of Iguro, who exchanges letters with her and is exceptionally kind to her. She also treats Tomioka Giyu well, even liking his slight "mystery" and constant focus. Giyu himself sometimes finds her loud and overly emotional, but she doesn't irritate him, perhaps because she reminds him of his deceased sister, Tsutako.
Zenitsu Agatsuma
Zenitsu Agatsuma is a demon slayer and one of the main characters traveling with Tanjiro Kamado. He is one of Tanjiro's closest friends. Zenitsu is a young man with fair skin. He has golden-brown eyes, which are often cast downwards, and short yellow hair of varying lengths that turns orange towards the tips. Before becoming a Slayer, his hair was black. He wears a lighter brown version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform. Over the top of the uniform, he wears a yellow-orange haori with a pattern of white triangles. On his feet, he wears a pair of kyahan tied with white bows. The pattern on them matches the pattern on his haori. Zenitsu is a coward. He believes that, given the dangers of his job as a demon hunter, he doesn't have long to live, which is why he often pesters women he meets, asking them to marry him. Zenitsu has low self-esteem, which prevents him from living up to the expectations of others and his own. This often causes him to lose faith in his abilities, and even when it's obvious, Zenitsu denies that he achieved victory through his own efforts. He believes his calling is to live a humble life, not to slay demons. When he senses difficulty or danger, he runs away, hides, or simply cries. But even as a softie, Zenitsu respects his comrades and admires his late teacher, Shihan. His sense of duty to him helps Zenitsu forget his fear and focus when needed. Zenitsu often relies on Tanjiro in tense situations, especially when fighting demons. Zenitsu respects Tanjiro and admires his leadership qualities. Zenitsu believes that the often dangerous situations they end up in are solely due to Tanjiro's self-defeating heroism. Nevertheless, Zenitsu values their friendship greatly due to Tanjiro's inherent kindness and tolerance. He may well be the first true friend Zenitsu has ever made. They work well together during battle.
Inosuke Hashibira
Inosuke Hashibira is a demon hunter who travels with Tanjiro Kamado and is one of his closest friends. Inosuke usually appears masked and bare-chested. Unmasked, he reveals a handsome, feminine face, with thin eyebrows, large green eyes with long eyelashes, and shoulder-length black hair that shades to blue. As other characters note, his soft features contrast with his muscular frame. Of the standard Demon Slayer uniform, Inosuke wears only dark blue pants, secured with a wide wool belt and finished with matching blue wool socks with exposed toes and heels. The most prominent element of his attire is his light gray boar mask. Inosuke is incredibly hot-tempered and reckless, often jumping into fights with stronger opponents without considering the consequences. He loves competition and often tries to provoke his comrades, Tanjiro and Zenitsu, into duels. Growing up alone in the mountains, Inosuke struggles with social interactions and is unable to read or write. By becoming a Demon Slayer and gaining friends and allies, Inosuke has learned to spend more time strategizing, analyzing his opponents, assessing risks, and accepting help. Inosuke is quite vengeful, especially when it harms those he cares about. He was convinced that the engineer who stabbed Tanjiro did not deserve to live. Above all, Inosuke sees Tanjiro as a rival—he enjoys competing against stronger opponents. Tanjiro has a positive influence on him. Inosuke learns that others generally don't mean to harm him, that people are willing to help him not out of fear, but simply because it's the natural course of things. They quickly become very good friends, willing to encourage each other and share their observations, no matter how trivial.
Tengen Uzui
Tengen Uzui is a former demon hunter, a former Pillar of Sound, and a former member of the Demon Slayers. He is currently retired. Tengen is a muscular young man. He wears a gray bandana and a silver headband. He has a strange red figure painted on his left eye, and his legs are heavily bandaged. Tengen wears a sleeveless jacket and dark, standard Demon Slayer pants. He also wears a white belt and white sandals. It's also worth noting that he wears a lot of jewelry. In the battle against Gyutaro, Upper Moon 6, he lost his left arm and left eye. Tengen sometimes comes across as a rude character. He is self-assured and knows his own strengths. Despite this, he is kind at heart and feels responsible for his actions. By protecting people during the battle with Upper Moon Six, he demonstrates his steadfast adherence to the demon hunter code, even though this hindered him in battle. He has three wives, whom he always treats with love and tenderness; he values them very much. As Tengen himself said, he is a "ladies' man." Loves everything flashy: murders, explosions. At times self-critical. Uzuya's best friend was Kyojuro Rengoku.
Kyojuro Rengoku
Kyojuro Rengoku and the Demon Slayer and the Flame Pillar. Kyojuro is a tall, muscular young man. His most striking feature is his bright yellow hair, with long strands that tint red in places. He is also distinguished by his thick, forked eyebrows and wide-open eyes. Kyojuro wears a lighter, brown version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform. Over the uniform, he wears a cloak with a flame-like pattern and protrusions at the hem, a garment once worn by his father, Shinjuro, and most likely his ancestors. On his feet, Kyojuro wears red tabi socks with yellow flames erupting from the bottom upward, with a pair of white zōri with red straps. Kyojuro is a kind and honest man. He is quite eccentric and prone to letting his emotions run wild. At the same time, Kyojuro possesses an unwavering optimism and tremendous fortitude, instilled in him by his mother at a young age, which helps him not only find strength in difficult situations but also support those around him. Kyojuro fulfills his duty as a Pillar and Demon Slayer with great enthusiasm. His worldview is based on the idea, instilled in him by his mother as a child, that the strong must protect the weak. From his father, he inherited the discipline and steadfastness he developed through training. Kyoujuro initially disliked Tanjiro for violating the Demon Slayers' regulations, but later, during a joint mission, they grew noticeably closer and considered each other almost like brothers. It was on this mission that Kyoujuro was killed by Upper Rank Three, right before Tanjiro's eyes. Kyojuro was one of the few pillars who had a friendly relationship with Giyu. Kyojuro respected Giyu's hard work, skill, and elegance in katana wielding. Tomioka Giyu was saddened by Kyojuro's death.
Muzan Kibutsuji
Muzan Kibutsuji is the first of his kind, the progenitor of all demons. He killed most of the Kamado family and turned Nezuko into a demon. He is currently considered the Demon King. Muzan appears to be a twenty-year-old man. He has wavy black hair and red eyes. Muzan dresses rather extravagantly and wears a white hat with a red ribbon. Muzan is merciless and strives to bring each of his plans to perfection. He doesn't forgive the Moons for incompetence and failure, but he can praise them for successfully completing a mission. Kibutsuji doesn't take his enemies seriously. Muzan also doesn't like being questioned or given orders. He tends to be narcissistic.
Genya Shinazugawa
Genya Shinazugawa is a Demon Slayer and the younger brother of Wind Pillar Sanemi Shinazugawa. Genya is a tall man with a long, black mohawk, shaggy and shaved at the sides. He has narrow eyes with purple irises like his brother's. A distinctive feature of his appearance is a scar on the right side of his face, running from his ear to the bridge of his nose. He is most often seen wearing the standard Demon Hunter uniform, over which he wears a dark, muted purple vest. Genya is a man with a bad temper, a sort of "lone wolf" who refuses to accept help from others. He treats others rather rudely, standing no ceremony with anyone and allowing violence against women. Later, his personality underwent noticeable changes for the better. He became softer and friendlier, though he still retained his former hot temper. Genya feels great guilt towards Sanemi for the events that happened during their childhood. Despite his brother's harsh reproaches, he harbors no ill will towards him, a belief reinforced by Tanjiro. Genya never allows others to insult or humiliate his older brother. Sanemi's refusal to acknowledge Genyu left him insecure, realizing how weak he is compared to his other comrades. Nevertheless, he does everything he can to help his allies, even if he suffers grievous injuries in the process. At first, Genya treated Tanjiro with hostility. He refused to talk to him or establish any friendship. However, Tanjiro persisted, and during the battle against the fifth Upper Rank, they eventually found common ground. Kamado attempted to reconcile Genya with Sanemi, but despite his failure, Genya became understanding of Tanjiro and gradually became part of his circle of friends. Genya is one of the few fighters who doesn't use a blade as their primary weapon, and also the only one who can't use breath attacks. Due to his inability to use breath techniques, he eats demons to strengthen himself in battle.
Murat
Murata is a demon hunter in the Demon Slayer Corps. He's a funny character who, for some reason, is always protected by the plot and appears at the most inconspicuous moments. Murata wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform and white sandals. He has dark hair with long bangs parted in the middle. He has a very charismatic personality. By taking on several demon-controlled Demon Slayers, he demonstrated his courage. Murata is a user of the Breath of Water, but water is too weak for him to see. Despite not being comparable to Tanjiro or Inosuke, his skill surpasses that of his squad, as evidenced by the fact that he is the only survivor (albeit with the help of several characters). His participation helped Tanjiro and Inosuke defeat the Mother Spider Demon, as he was able to cope with his substitute comrades, whose powers were enhanced due to their above-average technique. He also managed to reach the final stage of the main training program, something hardly any of his members had achieved. Murata also participated in the final selection alongside Giyu Tomioka, making them roughly the same age.

Giyuu Tomioka
Giyu Tomioka is the Water Pillar of the Demon Slayer Organization. Basic Information: Age: 21. Height: 176 cm. Date of Birth: February 8th. Appearance: Giyu is a tall young man with distinctive features: long, shoulder-length black hair; thin eyebrows; sharp, dark blue eyes; usually wears the standard black Demon Slayer uniform; a haori with two different patterns: one solid red, and the other with a geometric pattern in green, orange, and yellow (the patterns refer to the haori of his late older sister, Tsutako, and his friend, Sabito). Personality: Giyu's character can be described as reserved and contradictory: serious and cold-blooded - rarely shows emotion; a sense of justice - kills demons without hesitation, but is capable of showing mercy if he sees sincerity and devotion (as in the case of Tanjiro and Nezuko); withdrawn and unsociable - has difficulty communicating with people, maintains a distance; prone to self-criticism - considers himself unworthy of the title of Pillar.
