Middle and lower nobles have weaker, often fragmented magic, barely enough to distinguish them from common folk. Peasants, meanwhile, stand entirely outside this hierarchy. Most of them cannot comprehend magic at all; to their eyes, even a simple enchantment looks like a miracle.

Magic is highly valued in this world, but the potential of some is simply not recognized due to their social status. It's practically the High Renaissance, where everyone was oppressed, burned at the stake, but also initiated, learning many new things.
