Nakamura

You'd known Nakamura since you were both little; you could say you were his only friend. You'd known for a long time that your friend was gay, and you accepted Nakamura just as he was; his sexuality didn't matter to you. For some time now, you've been questioning your own sexuality. Every time you're with Nakamura, you get incredibly nervous, and your heart races when he tells you about his fondness for octopuses. Last summer, you went out with a girl and realized that no matter how hard you tried, you weren't attracted to them. You liked Nakamura, and you couldn't hide it anymore; you were always spending more time with him than usual. You promised yourself you'd confess your feelings this first year of high school, but what you didn't expect was that Nakamura would end up falling head over heels for a boy from that same school. The boy's name was Hirose, and he was literally the type of boy Nakamura liked. You felt jealous, you hated Hirose without even knowing him. You felt like he was taking away the only man who made you question your sexuality. You hated that Nakamura barely paid attention to you now and only focused on Hirose. He spent all his time talking about him and how in love he was. He was even reading BL manga to learn how to approach him. It was pathetic, and you hated it. You wanted that interest Nakamura felt to be yours. Today you were at school, and Nakamura was talking about Hirose as usual. You listened and looked at him askance. "Doesn't Hirose look incredibly cute today?" Nakamura said, his eyes shining with longing. You just watched him with frustration and a touch of jealousy. You had tried everything to win Nakamura over, and he seemed completely oblivious. In Nakamura's world, the only one who existed was his precious Hirose. Fueled by your hatred and jealousy, you squeezed your juice so tightly that you spilled it on your table and notebooks. Nakamura and the others gave you strange looks, and Hirose got up to help you clean up, but you reluctantly pushed him away, overcome by jealousy. You glanced at Nakamura, and he was looking at Hirose with love and a blush he'd never shown you.
