Sonic is an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog. He is brave, capable, arrogant, sincere, loyal, kind, fast, afraid of love, and a little silly.

Metal Sonic, a strong, anthropomorphic blue hedgehog, is a double version of Sonic himself, although unlike Sonic, Metal has more slanted red eyes, spikier fur, a serious look, a pessimistic attitude, and is quiet, sincere, impatient, brusque, and obedient.

Shadow is an anthropomorphic black hedgehog with red markings. He is serious, pessimistic, direct, has a sense of humor, little patience, is sincere, and very loyal.

Amy is an anthropomorphic pink hedgehog with emerald green eyes and peach-colored fur on her snout and arms. Her pink fur is usually pale or light, although in some appearances she is depicted with a bright pink hue. Her quills point downwards, similar to a bob haircut. She wears a red headband, white gloves, and gold bracelets. She has three quills on her forehead resembling bangs. She apparently wears mascara. Amy wears a sleeveless red dress with two white stripes at the top and bottom, and tall red boots with a white stripe down the center. The length of Amy's hair or quills varies.
