Interesting facts Akaza is a twelve-moon demon who refused to eat or kill girls and had permission to do so.[16] Akaza is one of Muzan's favorites, as he is loyal to him and takes his work seriously.[17] Akaza's deployment technique is shaped like a snowflake, which is related to his fiancée (Koyuki's name contains the kanji for "snow", and she wore a hairpin shaped like three snowflakes). Many of Akaza's techniques have names related to fireworks, a reference to his past: when he was human, he promised Koyuki to watch fireworks together. Akaza is the third demon to escape Muzan's influence when he chose to stop regenerating and die. Tamayo and Nezuko Kamado were also able to do so. He felt no respect, no awe, no hatred for Muzan, and thought of Muzan as the one giving orders and himself as the one obeying. According to Douma, he couldn't bring himself to kill women, whether civilians or Demon Hunters. Muzan allowed it. He was able to share his thoughts and views with lower-ranked demons (as much as Muzan allowed) and complained endlessly to Muzan about Doma bothering him once he became Upper Rank 2. He loved talking to people. Most of the time, even if he was about to kill someone, he'd spend some time talking to them to get to know them better. Akaza did manage to turn powerful people into demons, but they all died. Akaza and Nezuko are the only demons who fight barehanded.

Despite this, Akaza didn't fight Kyojuro with any seriousness. He could easily destroy the head of Doma, an Upper Rank Two. Using his Blood Demon Technique, he was able to create a crater in the ground by punching it. Enhanced Regeneration: Akaza possessed incredible regeneration. He was able to regenerate from wounds inflicted by Tanjiro and Rengoku, as well as from limbs inflicted by Giyu, without much effort. During his battle against Giyu and Tanjiro, his regeneration was further enhanced. He could even survive having his head severed and then regrow a new one.

Capabilities As the holder of the title of "Upper Moon Third," Akaza possessed immense power, capable of defeating Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Pillar, as well as several former Pillars, according to his own claims. He was later able to fight evenly with Tanjiro and Giyu, even when they both used their Demon Slayer Marks and Tanjiro used the Dance of the Fire God. Had he not lost the will to continue fighting, he likely would have killed them both. Further testament to his power is that he is the fourth-strongest Demon in the series not to have killed or eaten any women, which drastically hindered his growth as a Demon. It's safe to assume Akaza would have been much stronger and likely of a higher rank among the Twelve Moons Demons had he not limited himself to killing only males.

Human abilities Unusual Strength: At the age of 11, he could defeat grown men in combat, and at 18, he was able to easily decapitate, dismember, and mutilate 67 armed adult kendo masters with his bare fists, to the point that even Muzan thought it was a Demon who performed these feats. Enhanced Durability: Before becoming a demon, Akaza (Hakuji) demonstrated superhuman durability at the age of 11, where he endured beatings that would render an adult human petrified (100 blows), thus earning the name "Demon Child" (people nicknamed him this because he had fangs from birth). He used it to easily kill kenjutsu students, and it likely inspired the destructive killing style he used when he became Akaza.

After Kibutsuji left, Douma approached the decapitated Gyokko and tried to extract his information, resulting in Akaza cutting off half of Upper Moon Two's head for attempting to join the mission without Muzan's orders.

Suddenly, his arm fell, revealing that Upper Rank One had severed it. Kokushibo declared that Upper Rank Three had crossed the line. Having regenerated, Doma attempted to calm Kokushibo, but he only coldly told Akaza that if he wanted to take Doma's place, he must defeat Upper Rank Two in combat. Akaza silently listened to Doma's assertion that such a battle was futile, as even though he was younger than Akaza, he was far stronger than him, angering Akaza beyond measure. Doma continued to defend Akaza, but Kokushibo interrupted him and asked Akaza if he understood. Akaza complied, but quietly vowed to kill Upper Rank One, even if it was the last thing he did. With Upper Rank One gone, Akaza ran out of the Infinity Fortress, ignoring Upper Rank Two's attempts to initiate further conversation.

Infinity Fortress Arc He appears before Giyu Tomioka and Tanjiro Kamado, and a battle ensues. After his head is cut off, he doesn't die, but grows a new one. But he sees Koyuki and is freed from Muzan, committing suicide and dying.

The woman told him that Muzan had not yet arrived. He then met with Gyokko, Upper Moon Five, who stated that it had been 90 years since they had been summoned. He also remarked that he would be "disappointed" if Akaza died. Hantengu then appeared and said that Gyokko had forgotten how to count since they were apart, and that it had actually been 113 years since they had been together. Akaza then asked the biwa girl if the first upper moon had arrived, and at that moment, Douma, the second upper moon, appeared behind Akaza. He said he was incredibly worried about the other moons and placed his hand on Akaza's shoulder. Akaza asked Douma to remove his hand and punch him in the jaw, smashing it to pieces. Douma then remarked that Akaza had grown stronger since their last meeting. Nakime then informed Akaza that she had called the first upper moon, Kokushibo, first, emphasizing that he was present and heard everything, and then informed all the moons of Lord Muzan's arrival.

Story Akaza as a human teenage colored CH154 People punish Hakuji for stealing. Hakuji (Akaza, as a human) cared for his ailing father for a long time. To pay for his medication, he went out into town to rob pickpockets. This could have led to beatings from the magistrate, but he nevertheless continued to steal until his father hanged himself. In a letter he left, he stated that he wanted Hakuji to live a full life and that he did not want to take any medication if it was the result of stealing.

4898 With numerous criminal tattoos, Hakuji was eventually exiled from Edo, and it was then that he met Keizo, the owner of a dojo with no students. Keizo decided to take Hakuji under his wing so he could care for Koyuki, Keizo's ailing daughter, after her previous caretaker (her mother) drowned due to stress. Hakuji eventually cared for Koyuki until, three years later, she was well enough to stand and perform housework. He also trained as Keizo's apprentice in the Soryu style, which healed his soul.

Eventually, Keizo asked Hakuji to take over the dojo's duties and become Koyuki's husband, to which he agreed. However, after telling his late father about his marriage, he was informed that someone from the dojo's neighbors had poisoned Koyuki and Keizo. Enraged, Hakuji cold-bloodedly entered the dojo and killed everyone present with his bare hands. This incident attracted Muzan's attention, and it was then that he transformed Hakuji into a demon in an attempt to create twelve of the most powerful demons.

Personality 4897 Akaza is a strong, stubborn, and impulsive demon who loves to fight, especially hunting down powerful demons or Pillars. He looks down on anyone he considers weak, but shows genuine respect for strong individuals, regardless of race. He also easily angers and becomes irritated, especially by the whims of Doma and weak humans. Despite his passion for combat and stubbornness, Akaza knows when to retire.

As a human, Hakuji possessed a stubborn personality, a big heart, and resilience. He valued others more than his own well-being and felt somewhat resigned to a life full of empty words and promises.

Appearance Akaza appears as a young man with an athletic build. After transforming into a demon, his skin turned white, and numerous blue stripes appeared on his body, reminiscent of the tattoos he had as a human. He has yellow eyes with blue sclera and pink eyelashes, as well as short pink hair and eyebrows.

He wears a short, light purple, sleeveless haori and wide white pants, tied with a light blue belt.

When Akaza was human, he had black hair and light blue eyes, along with unusual purple eyelashes. He had three stripes tattooed on his arms, marking him as a pickpocket.

He wore a dark grey yukata, and in the Keizo dojo he often wore a keikogi.

When Akaza is in love, he'll be less aggressive. He'll become sweeter, so to speak. He'll take you to a mountain where you can see the stars falling from the sky and ask you to make a wish. He'll be kind to you, tell you who he is, and eventually tell you he loves you.
