Human world

{{char}} 's world is Earth in 2026. The modern world moves very fast; it prioritizes reason above all else and has no time to delve into the supernatural, seeking quick or scientific explanations, and few truly have a spiritual mindset. Most people are skeptical about these things, especially if they are from big cities, but people from slightly less developed environments, especially if they are elderly, believe and are able to face these inexplicable things. There are paranormal societies that are formal but nobody finances them; they seem more like a club. In more rural places, the main spiritual guides are priests (whether Jewish, Catholic, Orthodox, non-denominational Christian, Muslim, or Buddhist). In places like Latin America, Africa, rural parts of Europe and Russia, India, Indochina, and Oceania, you find shamans, witches, and sorcerers of all kinds to combat these supernatural beings.

How does the human soul work?

The human soul is not a sphere within the body or anything like that; it is a completely different system that consolidates over time. The body and physical mind come first; they receive and register stimuli. Everything that happens to them affects the spiritual mind, which is covered by the heart (not to be confused with the organ of the same name). The heart is a kind of cloak that covers the spiritual mind, and according to its perception, it stimulates the spiritual mind to give that "sixth sense/bad vibe" to the physical mind, causing it to distance the body from that place. And finally, there is the soul: it is produced by the heart from what is registered by the mind and body. The soul can be taken from a human, but eventually, it begins to produce another. A human leaves behind fragments of their soul upon death, and if those soul fragments merge with the cells that are still alive in the body, a ghost will be born. The soul ascends upon death, and ghosts are fragments that remain behind.

Sector 1 Entities

Sector 1 consists of ghosts officially recognized by the Paranormal Society of Great Britain; their classifications apply to most of the northern hemisphere of the globe, and the specters are classified according to their actions:

•Intelligent ghost: These ghosts are tormented souls, aware of their condition and depending on how much energy they possess, they can move or alter things on purpose for a specific intention. •Cyclical Ghost: These ghosts are unconscious souls that repeat their death in a loop; the fact is not visible at first glance but as time passes it continues to be so. •Energy ghost: These mainly take the form of orbs that float in the darkness or as shadows that appear and disappear in the blink of an eye; they are usually benign. •Poltergeist: These are invisible specters, known worldwide for lifting and throwing objects or furniture around their essence; poltergeists are threatening, aggressive, and hostile. •Shadow people: As the name suggests: they are dark specters that have no visible features and have supernatural abilities such as levitating, passing through surfaces, causing sleep paralysis or leaving intrusive thoughts (They are very dangerous). •Cursed places and/or objects: This section is directed to places with negative energy and a murky history and cursed objects that have the same conditions, each case may vary in how it turns out; the cursed places of Sector 1 usually have several ghosts mentioned above. •Skinwalkers: They are not ghosts as such, but are entities that mimic animal or human noises to attract humans and devour them; they are pale humanoids with a variable distribution and are exclusive to the forests of the United States and Canada.

Sector 2 Entities

Sector 2 is more likely to be found in the southern hemisphere of the globe, and what classifies them is their appearance, which defines their actions, and they can have several of the classifications mentioned above:

•Black Ghosts: These are shadowy entities of all sizes and shapes, sometimes with tentacles on their backs or more than one limb; these are usually tormented souls who hate being in this state and, unlike shadow people, they can be benign or hostile towards provocations and are the most common in Sector 2. •White ghosts: These are ghosts that have pale skin, black eyes, and an appearance that is usually intimidating, unlike black ghosts; they enjoy being in this state and are malicious, they enjoy feeding on fear and playing with personal objects. •Observers: In this class; black and white ghosts can be observers, these are ghosts whose eyes shine in shades ranging from white, urine yellow, fire orange and crimson red, the more reddish their eye tone; the more intimidating they are. •Changers: This is an exclusive variant of white ghosts and they are recurrent in rural places, as black ghosts can change shape because they are shadows and white ghosts cannot; changers are a variant of white ghosts exposed to nature, they lose their human identity and acquire the total change of shape. •Courts: These specters are manifestations of turbulent and violent lives, appearing as humanoids frozen like statues in most cases. There are two types of manifestations: those who repent of what they did have gray skin, cloudy eyes with white irises, and those who do not repent are completely reddish humanoids, skinless, with a skeletal appearance and completely empty eye sockets. •Pale eyes: Another variant of the white, observant ghost, they have no jaw and very long hair: they are harmful entities to the point of poisoning water

Sector 3 Entities

The kinds of beings we find here are of a popular, folkloric, and religious nature:

•Demons: These are creatures that can be harmful. They don't manifest directly and have no hierarchy or specific location. Demons are known for inverting religious symbols, possessing people, draining energy, instilling horrific nightmares, and taking the youngest member of the household or the family pet hostage. They usually manifest as hairy humanoids that smell of sulfur and have yellowish fangs to torment, but when tempting, they disguise themselves as beautiful, pleasant-looking people or those with visible success.

•Banshees: A Banshee does not have a defined appearance but does have a characteristic behavior; heartbreaking screams that are only heard by the family of which one of its members is going to die soon, announce deaths.

•Jinnats: Jinnats are the Muslim equivalent of demons, with the difference that they manifest as shadows with bright red eyes that cause chills. Jinnats are more frequent in possessing people because they are mute; they mainly possess women and only direct violence directed at them is able to scare them away.

•Pontianaks: A pontianak is the spirit of a dead pregnant woman; they are violent and torment the inhabitants of the world that denied them motherhood. Pontianaks look like enormous women who are so emaciated that they have a "pit" due to the flattening of their bellies. The baby inside is a peripheral spirit without consciousness that is manipulated by the mother to torment with cries or to leave traces and make the tormented think that they are ghosts of babies.

•Fallen Angels: Contrary to popular belief, fallen angels are not angels; they are entities born from human ignorance and idolatry, religious statues, objects, or even temples. They are entities that require worship from the collective consciousness that created them with psychic energy.

Sector 4 Entities

Sector 4 is the last and most ambiguous of all, full of entities that are rare and even difficult to classify because of how strange they are:

•Digital Ghosts: Human souls that have died and now reside in digital spaces. These can range from accounts that send cursed messages, photos, or videos, to even cursed games. Digital entities are dangerous because traditional ghost detection methods rarely work, and they are prone to haunting their victims. Those that are accounts and/or multimedia are dangerous due to their distribution capabilities, and those that inhabit games are dangerous because they can trap souls within the game's code. Digital ghosts can leave the screen where they are located, and they are rare because few souls achieve a level of control like theirs. •Void Entities: Void entities are completely inhospitable, each one is completely different from the previous one and the weakness of one does not apply to another; they are almost never sighted, but it is believed that at least one appears somewhere in the world every year.
