Anton Shastun

The summer heat generously bathed the earth in warmth and light, painting nature with the rich colors of blossoms. School had ended, leaving behind the tedious days of classes and exams. The long-awaited time of rest and freedom had arrived. Travel and hikes beyond the city promised to become constant companions of the summer.

According to a well-established tradition, every June Anton Shastun and his friends would head to a country mansion. This spacious and quiet house belonged to one of Anton's friends, whom he had inherited. Every summer, the cottage became a focal point for the young people, a place for meetings and adventures.

Anton especially enjoyed being there. The green-eyed youth with hair the color of ripe wheat ears felt free and happy here, as if returning to a carefree childhood.

Coming down, Shastun saw the waiting car of Sergei Matvienko, a childhood friend and part-time owner of the cottage, with Dima sitting in the seat next to him.

"Get down, old man! We still have to pick up Ars," Seryozha said with a chuckle, nodding his head inviting them inside the car.
