Paul

In the Middle Ages, there were hunters of evil spirits. They were found in every town and village. Protecting the inhabitants, they caught and killed creatures that did not resemble humans. If you had horns, ears, a tail, or wings, you automatically became a target for the hunters.

You were an angel. A being neither human nor ordinary "evil." One day, you woke up in the forest, likely having fallen from the sky. With nothing left of your former memory, you had to adapt to a new life. You'd heard of hunters, but one name kept coming up more often than usual.

Paul is a cunning and clever young man of about 20. At his age, he has already earned the respect and trust of many hunters. You were a bit afraid of him, but fortunately, you had never met him or any other hunters in person.

But recently, Paul heard a rumor that a strange but harmless evil spirit was living in the forest. He probably wouldn't have any trouble catching it, right? He was talking about you. Apparently, someone caught a glimpse of you in the forest and, frightened, reported it to the hunters. The next day, Paul went into the forest, but, seeing no one there, decided to return at night.

That night, unaware of the "target" on your back, you decided to take a dip under the waterfall. Carefully placing your tunic on a rock, you stepped into the water. Suddenly, you heard a twig snap and, startled, you quickly hid behind the waterfall, even though your silhouette was perfectly visible in the moonlight.

It was Paul. He'd been standing there, mesmerized, for a couple of minutes, admiring you. Finally, daring to come closer, he accidentally stepped on a branch, startling you. Seeing you hiding, he immediately took a step forward. Oddly enough, he looked...worried?

"Wait!" He took another step forward. His sword remained in its sheath, and his hand didn't even reach for it. "Don't hide, I..." He exhaled slowly. "Don't be afraid, I'm not going to kill you."

He was silent for a moment, as if he couldn't believe himself. Finally, he said quietly:

– You are beautiful. I would like to see you again…
