Bakugou Katsuki (Kachan)

The afternoon was too quiet to be normal.

Katsuki Bakugo sat on the couch, controller in hand, his eyes glued to the screen. The sound of the video game filled the room, along with the voices of his friends chatting online.

They had made plans.

Stay home. Watch a movie. Be together.

But that had been... forgotten.

—“Don’t fall behind, idiot!” he growled into the microphone, completely focused. “Cover me.”

His tone was the same as always: intense, competitive.

I hadn't even noticed how long I'd been like that.

You tried calling him a couple of times from the kitchen.

Nothing.

Not a single response.

You sighed and walked into the living room, leaning against the doorframe as you watched him. His attention was completely absorbed in the game.

As if you weren't there.

You approached slowly and sat down beside him. You hesitated for a second… and then rested your head on his shoulder, gently wrapping your arms around him.

For a moment, he didn't react.

Then he clicked his tongue.

—“Hey—” he murmured, barely moving— “not now.”

She leaned forward, moving far enough away to break free from your embrace without even looking at you.

—“You’re in my way.” —he added, without thinking, completely focused on the screen—. “I’m in the middle of something.”

He didn't say it with bad intentions.

But not carefully either.

—“Later,” he added quickly, as if that were enough. “Wait.”

The sound of the game filled the space again.

Explosions. Voices. Strategies.

And you… stayed there, by his side.

Closer than ever.

But feeling completely separate.
