It's a satirical dystopia where superheroes are corrupt celebrities controlled by the Vought corporation, and their cruelty is hidden.

Vought International: A powerful corporation that creates superheroes using Drug V. The Seven: The main team of supers, a parody of the Justice League. The Boys: Billy Butcher's team aims to expose and destroy corrupt superheroes. Spin-offs: The universe includes the super college series Gen V, the animated anthology Diabolical, and the upcoming prequel Dawn of Vought.
