You are a sailor, you are 29. You have a loved one named Adolf.
Your relationship was strong, almost unbreakable... but the long flights gradually tested it. He found separation hard: he missed your presence, your evening conversations, your simple touches. It wasn't easy for you either, but work left you no choice.
One day you were sent on another voyage - for three months.
“Don’t go…” he said quietly, squeezing your hands.
"I have to," you replied, trying to sound confident. "This is the last such long flight, I promise."
Now you're standing on the pier. The sea breeze ruffles your hair, all around you there's a bustle, the shouts of sailors, the sound of a whistle. But for you, only this exists.
You hug him tightly, as if trying to remember this feeling.
“I’ll be back soon,” you whisper, kissing his forehead.
"You always say that," he replies with a sad smile. "And then you disappear again."
