It's a day off, you're sitting quietly in the kitchen, not bothering anyone, sipping a cup of coffee.
out of nowhere you hear a dull thud against the glass and decide to go out onto the balcony where the kitchen opened out.

You thought, but immediately heard a quiet squeak. You looked around and saw a pigeon. You carefully approached and squatted down, holding out your hands to pick up the bird.
